Since then, he has taught lessons at Larsen School of Music and Tapestry Music, and now Avram teaches out of his personal studio.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-550 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/mccaghertymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/avram-couch-cropped.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"276\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mccaghertymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/avram-couch-cropped.jpg 685w, https:\/\/mccaghertymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/avram-couch-cropped-300x276.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Avram&#8217;s strength with\u00a0<strong>beginner learners<\/strong>\u00a0is his\u00a0patience\u00a0and willingness to\u00a0work with students on\u00a0their favourite\u00a0material at their own pace. Beginning students can focus on basic techniques and\u00a0learn to strum the chords of any of their favourite songs, while choosing to incorporate as much\u00a0music theory as they want.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\">More <strong>intermediate students<\/strong> can focus on various fingerstyle techniques, learning solo guitar\u00a0arrangements of classic folk tunes from artists like the Beattles and Bob Dylan, or they may\u00a0choose to begin a path towards flatpicked improvisation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><strong>Advanced students<\/strong>\u00a0benefit from Avram\u2019s specialized skill set in arranging jazz classics in Chet\u00a0Atkins ragtime style or exploring the rich harmonies of jazz ballads, and his ability to clearly\u00a0explain more complicated aspects of harmony and improvisation. \u00a0Students may choose to focus\u00a0on learning how to compose or arrange more complex styles of music for fingerstyle guitar.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI was a \u2018dabbling guitarist\u2019 of many years.
